The artist's name is Nancy (Key) Fortenberry and is known as "Nancy F" in the world of Wire Jewelry . She has been an artist for more than thirty years. She began her career as an art major in college, with a minor in music, concentrating in concert piano.
This designer began making jewelry about six years ago, and continues to stretch to learn new techniques. Besides pursuing her own creative processes, she devotes time to helping aspiring artists to learn this art form developed in ancient times, Wire Sculpture, by giving personal lessons as well as instruction over the World Wide Web.
As a person who enjoys learning as well as teaching, this artist has begun to explore lampworking and silver clay sculpture, both of which will be added to her artistic endeavors. Exploring and developing skills with different media and methods allows her to grow as an artist and provide her customers with an increasingly enormous array of jewelry to please the mind and spirit.
Nancy F is currently serving her second term as President of the International Guild of Wire Jewelry Artists after serving 2 terms as Vice-President. As a Juried Member of the Guild, she participates in the process of selection of other jewelry artists who wish to become juried members.
Aside from the diversity of her professional career, Nancy F has a rich personal life. She is married, has one son, two step-daughters, and two grandchildren of whom she is very proud and loves dearly. She chooses to live in quiet harmony with her animals and the love of her life, her husband Mike. She lives by the adages "Enjoy life. Be pleasant and helpful. Honor the earth and its creatures. Do not seek wealth, seek joy; it's priceless!"
